It didnt appear to be granite, but most definitely some igneous rock. The temple is 13th century one, improvements made during the 18th century too. Reply
In many old temples, granite stone or its variants were commonly used. Unlike what we see today – mirror finished stone, they were unfinished and with uneven surface. Thanks for the info SenK! 🙂

Is this carving carried out on granite stone? How old is this temple?
